TeaLa Ｘ Torrance city X Leglislator Wang Ting-Yu X Soochow University

Three meetings held on February 2, 2023 reached significant cooperation agreements, which are described as follows:

Meeting 1: Visit of Torrance City Mayor, for Business and Trade Exchange

The city is currently governed by Mayor George Chen, who is of Taiwanese descent. During the online meeting, both sides reached an agreement to arrange Mayor Chen's visit to Taiwan in March, with the assistance of TeaLa. The visit will include international exchanges between Mayor Huang Wei-che of Tainan City and Legislator Wang Ting-yu of the Legislative Yuan, as well as commercial interactions in the local industry, achieving substantive cooperation and significance in Taiwan-US new eastward exchanges.

Meeting 2: Visit to Legislator Wang Ting-yu of the Legislative Yuan

Thanks to the strong support of Legislator Wang, the concept and action plan of TeaLa were highly affirmed, and he expressed willingness to participate in the Association's industry international exchanges.

Meeting 3: Talent Cultivation Program at Soochow University

Thanks to the recognition and support of the President of Soochow University and Executive Director of TeaLa, Dr. Pan Wei-ta, we had a discussion on industry-academic cooperation to cultivate international talent and double-degree programs, and reached multiple consensuses. We look forward to working together with Soochow University, which has a long history and excellent reputation, to jointly incubate more cross-border talent urgently needed by the industry in the promotion of the 30x100 Talent Development Plan.

These three meetings represent the abundant energy linking industry development, Taiwan and US officials, and academia. We believe that with the joint efforts of the industry, government, and academia of Taiwan and the US, the development of TeaLa will advance rapidly and achieve great success. We also look forward to the active support of all partners of TeaLa.
